Being able to extend one's UFC career without ever winning consecutive fights is a difficult proposition. But that's exactly what heavyweight slugger Pat Barry has managed to do.
With his spectacular knockout loss to Lavar Johnson last Saturday, Barry has now fought in the UFC nine times, but has yet to string together two consecutive wins.
Looking at the history of all UFC fighters, only four others have a UFC career of at least 9 fights without ever having won back-to-back fights. Of those fighters, two of them have had their UFC careers interrupted by fights outside of the organization.

Saturday night's main event between Nate Diaz and Jim Miller pitted representatives from the two most resilient sets of brothers ever to set foot in the Octagon.
Entering the fight, Jim and brother Dan had never been stopped in 22 career fights in the UFC. Nate, along with brother Nick, had never lost by stoppage in 27 career UFC fights, prior to Saturday's event.
Jim Miller's submission loss to Nate Diaz on Saturday night therefore marks the first time that a Miller or Diaz brother has been stopped in the Octagon in a remarkable 51 collective fights.
With Nate Diaz' guillotine choke win over Jim Miller, there are only five fighters left with at least 10 UFC fights who have never lost by stoppage. Aside from the Diaz brothers and Dan Miller, only Anderson Silva and Frankie Edgar fall under that category.

When Nate Diaz enters the UFC cage on Saturday night on Fox, it will be his 16th fight in the past five years. That's 3 more UFC fights than any other fighter has had in the same span.
Diaz has never gone six months without a fight during his UFC tenure.
UFC on Fox will be showcasing two other fighters who have been very active in the same five-year period. Both Josh Koscheck and Diaz' opponent Jim Miller will be gracing the Octagon on Saturday for the 13th time in the last five years.

Judges at Saturday's UFC 145 event were called into action 8 times, a record-tying number for the UFC. Four other UFC events have also had eight fights go to the cards: Ultimate Fight Night 20, The Ultimate Fighter 12 Finale, UFC 136, and UFC 137.
However, in spite of there being 12 total fights on the card, one of which being a five-round title fight, UFC 145 was only the sixth-longest card in UFC history, when measuring total duration of all fights.
