When a fighter gets beaten so soundly in a single round that a judge scores it 10-8 for their opposition, it's very rare that they still manage to win a decision. In fact, prior to Saturday's UFC on Fox card, that scenario had only played out twice in UFC fights for which round-by-round scoring is available.
A third instance of that situation occurred on Saturday, as Danny Castillo lost a majority decision to Brazilian Edson Barboza after Castillo did enough in the first frame to earn a 10-8 round on one of the three judges scorecards.
Four other times, a fighter has garnered at least one 10-8 round, but would have to settle for a draw. Most recently, Mark Hunt earned two 10-8 scores in the final round of his epic battle against Bigfoot Silva, just enough to earn him a majority draw.
